If you, a friend or relative were injured as a result of slipping on ice or some other liquid on a floor, parking lot or sidewalk, which was due to someone else's fault/negligence or you fell down stairs or tripped over an object that shouldn't have been present, you may be entitled to recover damages for your personal injuries, including pain and suffering, out-of-pocket expenses, loss of income, physical impairment, scarring and/or inconvenience.
In slip/trip and fall cases, there is a 2-year statute of limitations in Colorado, meaning that if you were to file a suit, you would need to do so within 2 years from the date of the incident or you would be forever barred from bringing such a lawsuit.
In most instances, the place where the slip/trip and fall occurred has a medical pay provision; meaning that regardless of who was at fault, you would be entitled to a $1,000 or in some instances a $5,000 benefit to cover your medical expenses.
